Philosphy

It is well documented by research that playing musical instruments benefits a child's brain development as well school performance. Classical music also stimulates children's imagination and creativity tremendously. I focus not only on teaching students how to play their instrument, but also the understanding and appreciation of the art form. In addition, I put emphasis on helping them develop qualities and abilities that will help them succeed in life regardless of career path. Finally, I want to be a friend and mentor to all my students, and to help every one of them achieve their full potential.

Background

I studied string pedagogy with Andrew Luchansky at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Suzuki Method with Cathryn Lee, a world-renowned teacher trainer and the artistic consultant for the Northern California Suzuki Institute. My students have won auditions for Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra as well as Irvine and State Honor Orchestras.
